SAN FRANCISCO STUDENT COMPETES IN MATH HOOPS

A fourth grader from San Francisco is gearing up for a championship — but not on the basketball court. Camdyn Siden is headed to New York City for the NBA Math Hoops Global Championship. She’s representing not just her school, but the entire Bay Area and the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors even gifted her a custom jersey to wear at the competition. Camdyn admits she thought it was a prank at first — but now she’s excited and ready. The NBA Math Hoops challenge mixes basketball stats and fast-paced math skills. Camdyn loves it because it brings together her two favorite things: basketball and math. She says math is fun, even if she can’t quite explain why! Her teacher, Ms. Wen, says Camdyn has been all in since day one, always eager to play. Now, Camdyn’s hard work will pay off on a global stage. Her school, family, and Warriors fans will all be rooting for her. And whatever the outcome, Camdyn is already a hometown hero.
