Yucca Valley Woman Arrested After Wheelchair Hit-and-Run in Cathedral City

A 36-year-old Yucca Valley woman is under arrest following a hit-and-run collision that left a man in a wheelchair critically injured in Cathedral City.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. Tuesday on Date Palm Drive. Police say the 68-year-old man was crossing the street outside of a designated crosswalk when he was struck by two vehicles. The driver of the first vehicle, identified as Andrea Lauren Hill, allegedly fled the scene.

Thanks to eyewitness accounts and surveillance video, Cathedral City Police were able to identify Hill. She later met with investigators, provided a statement, and was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run resulting in injury.

The man remains hospitalized in critical condition.
