Dry Heat Continues Across Coachella Valley as Temps Climb Toward 110
Today marks the first of the longest nights of the year, with sunset tonight at 8:00 p.m. But don’t let the long evening fool you—it’s going to be hot. We’re topping out around 104 degrees across the valley, a bit above average for this time of year but still well below the record of 122 degrees.
Winds are also kicking up, with gusts up to 40 miles per hour expected in parts of the desert. Stay hydrated if you’re heading out, especially in hot spots like Desert Hot Springs.
High temperatures around the region include:
Joshua Tree: 94°
Banning: 88°
Cabazon: 65°
Big Bear: 77° (with a low of 47°)
Valley floor cities: Indio 74° low, Palm Springs 72° low
Tomorrow's forecast shows more dry heat ahead:
2 p.m.: 100°
6 p.m.: just under 98°
10 p.m.: mid-80s
Noon: temperatures climbing again toward triple digits
With many people traveling this week, weather across the country also brings the heat:
Denver: 101°
Chicago: upper 80s
San Francisco: a much cooler 60°
Relief is on the horizon, thanks to a low-pressure system pushing out of Canada. It may help lower temperatures slightly heading into next week. But for now, prepare for a dry and hot weekend ahead.
Brought to you by Comfort Air—today’s high: 99°, with triple digits expected by the end of the week and highs near 110° by the weekend.
