Fourth of July BBQ Costs Rise Slightly in 2025

Planning to host a Fourth of July cookout? Expect to pay a little more this year. According to Wells Fargo, a classic barbecue for 10 people will cost around $130 in 2025. That’s a 2.2% increase from last year. But the good news? It’s a relatively modest jump compared to recent years of pandemic-driven inflation. The report analyzed prices for holiday staples like chicken, beef sliders, hot dogs, eggs, produce, soda, and liquor. Wells Fargo notes that despite rising costs, most Americans probably won’t feel much sticker shock. The increase is considered part of a normal post-pandemic trend. And tariffs haven’t yet impacted this year’s barbecue prices. That’s largely because most of the key menu items are produced right here in the U.S. So, while costs are up slightly, the backyard celebration lives on. Just maybe skip the extra side dish—or ask guests to bring one.
