Tropical Storm Andrea Marks Early 2025 Hurricane Season

Tropical Storm Andrea Marks Early 2025 Hurricane Season

Tropical Storm Andrea became the first named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season on Tuesday.
The storm is currently about 1,400 miles off the East Coast.
It is packing winds of up to 40 miles per hour.
Fortunately, Andrea is not expected to make landfall.
Meteorologists predict it will weaken and dissipate by Wednesday.
This season has started slower than usual due to environmental factors.
Strong winds and cooler ocean temperatures have played a role.
Saharan dust blowing over the Atlantic has also contributed to the delay.
Despite the slow start, experts are not lowering their guard.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecasts up to 10 hurricanes this season.
This number is consistent with an average Atlantic hurricane season.
Officials continue to remind coastal residents to stay prepared throughout the season.
