Third Annual Equality Wine and Food Fest Celebrates Diversity in Palm Springs

The third annual Palm Springs Equality Wine and Food Fest brought flavor and purpose to downtown Palm Springs on Saturday, celebrating inclusivity and community at the Hyatt Palm Springs.

Hosted by Michael Westman, the festival highlights wines and culinary experiences created by LGBTQ+, women-owned, and people of color-owned businesses. More than 100 food and wine vendors participated, each representing diversity and excellence in their craft.

“This event really is more than just wine—and that’s our tagline,” said Westman. “We’re here to promote and support each other.”

The celebration featured a high-energy atmosphere with live music by DJ Mod Girl, a silent auction, and tastings from top vendors. Beyond indulgence, the event also raised funds for three local charities.

“We love our community, and we love to support the LGBTQ+ community,” said one attendee. “It’s such a great way to bring people together.”

Organizers say the festival grows bigger and better each year—and 2025 is expected to be no exception.

“We want people to leave not just with a taste of great food and wine, but with stories, awareness, and a deeper connection to the businesses that support this community,” Westman said.

For those who attended, it wasn’t just about what was poured—it was about what was shared.
