Trump's Big Bill Hits Big Barrier To July 4 Deadline
Republicans are scrambling to pass President Donald Trump's sweeping domestic policy legislation by his self-imposed deadline.
That's after the senate parliamentarian called for revisions.
GOP leaders say they hope the senate can rework the bill and pass it this weekend.
After that, it would still have to go back to the house and trump wants to sign it by Independence Day.
Republicans are using a process called reconciliation for the bill.
It allows senate passage with a simple majority but it's largely for budget legislation.
The senate parliamentarian says several of the bill's provisions don't qualify.
Democrats say they don't want to cut Medicaid and food stamps to offset trillions of dollars in tax breaks
