Trump Teases TikTok Buyer, Identity Unknown

President Donald Trump says there is a buyer for TikTok, but he’s not revealing who it is yet.
In a Fox News interview that aired Sunday, Trump said he expects to disclose the buyer in about two weeks.
He hinted that the buyers are a "group of very wealthy people."
Trump also mentioned he believes China’s approval will be necessary for the deal to proceed.
This comes nearly five months after a law requiring TikTok’s U.S. ban unless sold by its China-based parent company went into effect.
Trump has signed three orders delaying enforcement of that ban so far.
The current deadline for ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, to transfer control of U.S. operations is September 17.
The sale is intended to address national security concerns raised by U.S. officials.
There has been ongoing debate over how to handle Chinese tech companies operating in America.
TikTok remains wildly popular despite the uncertainty around its future.
The next few weeks will be crucial in determining who controls TikTok in the U.S.
Officials continue negotiations behind the scenes to finalize the deal.
