Lululemon Sues Costco Over Alleged Knockoff Apparel Sold Under Kirkland Brand

Lululemon has filed a lawsuit against Costco, claiming the retail giant is selling unauthorized knockoff versions of its athletic wear under the Kirkland label.

According to the lawsuit filed Friday, the popular athleisure brand accuses Costco of marketing and selling unlicensed clothing that closely resembles Lululemon’s signature designs—but at a significantly lower price point.

The legal complaint alleges that Costco’s private label line, Kirkland Signature, includes apparel items that mimic Lululemon's styles and branding, potentially misleading consumers and undercutting the company's market share.

Lululemon is seeking full financial restitution for losses tied to the alleged infringement. The company is also asking the court to issue an order requiring Costco to stop selling the disputed clothing items immediately.

The case highlights ongoing tensions in the fashion and retail industry, where design imitation and brand protection continue to spark legal battles.
