An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Tuesday, July 1, 2025!

Because of an upper-level high pressure center sitting over the Southwest, temperatures in the Coachella Valley will once again surpass 110° today. In fact, middle one-teens are possible this afternoon.

An Extreme Heat Warning has been posted for the Eastern third of Riverside County and most of Imperial County through 6p today. Also, we'll be under sunny skies with a few mid-level clouds overhead while surface dew points reside in the middle-to-upper 30s.

Keep in mind -- with winds out of the West expected later today -- smoke from the Juniper and Wolf fires may be pushed into the Coachella Valley area reducing air quality.

On Wednesday, a disturbance approaching the California coast will push that upper-high to the East which will play a role in chipping away at those high temps.

Palm Springs will experience a high of 109° Wednesday, followed by 106° on both the 3rd and 4th of July.
