Animal Samaritans Provides Free Spay and Neuter Services Thanks to Generous Donation

Animal Samaritans is helping Coachella Valley pet owners fight pet overpopulation one surgery at a time, showing how a generous donation is making a life-saving difference. Thanks to an anonymous $100,000 donation, Animal Samaritans is offering no-cost spay and neuter services to qualifying pet families one city at a time. The organization has been working throughout the Coachella Valley, providing free spay and neuter services aimed at reducing the number of unwanted animals and saving lives in overcrowded shelters. Animal Samaritans has teamed up with local cities, including passing out information about the surgery program at locations like Esperanza Park in Cathedral City.

Desert Hot Springs Next in Line

Next up is Desert Hot Springs. Starting in July, residents can bring their valid ID and proof of Desert Hot Springs residency to the Desert Hot Springs City Hall on Palm Drive. The surgeries include post-operative pain medication and care from a veterinary technologist.

About Animal Samaritans

Animal Samaritans began in 1978 as a low-cost spay and neuter clinic. Today they offer full-service veterinary care, including urgent care, oncology, cardiology and internal medicine at two locations - one in Indio and the other in Thousand Palms. They also operate a no-kill animal shelter in Thousand Palms. Animal Samaritans plans to continue this effort across the Coachella Valley, helping more families and more pets one city at a time.
