Creative Ice Cream Flavors, Ginger Snaps, and Reggae Music Take Over July 1st Holiday Calendar

Good Tuesday morning! It’s time for the Hashtag Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz, brought to you by Inland Empire Health Plan. Here’s what we’re celebrating on July 1st, 2025.

First up, it's National Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day, the perfect excuse to try something beyond vanilla or chocolate. How about baked brie with almond ricotta macaroons ice cream? Or maybe rhubarb and pistachio? Whether you’re sticking with a classic hot fudge sundae or going full foodie, today’s about exploring the unexpected.

Also on the calendar is National Ginger Snap Day. These spicy, sweet cookies made with molasses, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and brown sugar bring back warm memories for many—especially for those lucky enough to have a ginger snap-baking pro in the family.

It’s also International Blink-182 Day! Why today? Because it’s the 182nd day of the year. The San Diego-born punk rock band rose to fame with hits like All the Small Things, I Miss You, and One More Time. The band was originally named Blink, but after a naming dispute with an Irish group, they added "182"—randomly.

And we’re not done. International Reggae Day is also today, honoring the music genre born in Jamaica in the 1960s. The term "reggae" was popularized by Toots and the Maytals’ 1968 single Do the Reggay. Think Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Jimmy Cliff.
