Live Streamers Gain Fame Outside Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Trial as Jury Deliberations Begin

The first day of jury deliberations in the Sean “Diddy” Combs trial took an unexpected turn Monday when the jury was dismissed after more than five hours of deliberation. But outside the courtroom, a different kind of drama is unfolding — one that's propelling a group of live streamers into viral fame.

Streaming daily from the steps of the federal courthouse in New York City, independent creators like Miss Pleasant — host of the Pop-Off Show on YouTube — and others have built a massive following by covering the trial in real time. Another streamer, known as Neek, has attended every day for the past eight weeks, rain or shine.

"I'm nosy," she said. “It has celebrity, it has sex, it has crime, it has drugs.”

Many of these self-styled citizen journalists have seen explosive growth in their audiences. Neek said her follower count jumped from around 5,000 to 16,000. Others, like Kealoha Connor, who was formerly in marketing, say the experience has inspired them to pursue journalism full time. “First day I peaked at over 20,000 people watching. Now I’m hooked,” she said.

Some streamers read transcripts, others share handwritten notes, or chase down witnesses and family members for footage. They say their unscripted, relatable tone fills a gap left by traditional media.

“We can say, ‘I didn’t like that,’ or ‘that felt weird,’” said one streamer. “It’s something legacy media can’t really do.”

Many are monetizing their content through YouTube’s Super Chats, Cash App donations, and fan contributions — turning their courthouse coverage into a lucrative venture.

As deliberations continue, anticipation for a verdict grows. “This is as big as the O.J. trial,” one streamer said. “People want closure. They want to know how it ends.”
