Giant ‘Messengers’ Art Sculptures Coming to Downtown Indio
Downtown Indio is welcoming a striking new art installation with a public ribbon cutting on July 18. The installation, titled The Messengers, features two massive, robot-like sculptures originally showcased at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Now permanently installed on Town Street, the vibrant figures stand as tall as 75 feet, bringing bold color and creative energy to the heart of the city.
Indio Mayor Glenn Miller says the sculptures are more than just eye-catching—they’re meant to be symbols of community and connection. “These iconic pieces reflect the spirit of gathering,” Miller shared, noting their new home will serve as a cultural landmark for the city.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will celebrate not just the arrival of the art, but also Indio’s ongoing investment in public spaces and downtown revitalization.
