Paramount to Pay $16 Million in Trump Lawsuit Over CBS Interview
Paramount Global has reached a $16 million settlement in a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump. The suit centered around a 60 Minutes interview aired last year on CBS, featuring then-Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Trump alleged that the segment was deceptively edited, misrepresenting key parts of the interview.
Paramount, which owns CBS, did not admit to any wrongdoing in the settlement and will not issue a public apology or statement of regret.
As part of the agreement, the $16 million payment will be directed to the development of Trump’s future presidential library. While specifics of the library’s location and timeline have not yet been confirmed, the settlement marks a significant financial contribution toward the project.
CBS and Paramount have declined to comment beyond confirming the terms of the settlement.
