Academy of Musical Performance Summer Camp Returns to Coachella Valley
The Academy of Musical Performance Summer Camp officially kicked off this week in the Coachella Valley, welcoming young musicians eager to hone their skills and explore their passion for music.
Designed for students ages 10 to 18, the camp offers a high-energy, hands-on experience where participants dive into the fundamentals of modern music. Campers are grouped into small bands, where they learn songwriting, music production, stage performance, and how to collaborate creatively.
One student shared, “It’s been my hobby for a while and it just seems fun to join a band and learn how to play more. It’ll be a really fun experience for me this summer.”
For returning campers, the program continues to be a place of growth and inspiration. “I’ve been coming here for three years now. It’s a really good place to get better and learn more about music,” said another attendee.
Beyond instruments and lyrics, the camp emphasizes communication and creativity. “I think they should come here because it’s a very good place to learn how to write songs, communicate with other people, and just learn how to play stuff that you want to play,” one camper said.
The camp culminates in a final showcase where students take the stage to perform original songs and collaborative pieces in front of friends, family, and fans—highlighting the progress they've made over the course of the program.
