Indio Seeks Public Input on Avenue 50 Widening Project

The City of Indio is planning a major roadway renovation and wants the public's input. The proposal focuses on Avenue 50, with plans to widen the road to two lanes in each direction from Jefferson Street to Jackson Street.

City officials say the roughly 3.5-mile project aims to ease traffic congestion and improve safety in the area. Along with the expansion, the addition of a designated bike lane is also being considered.

Residents and commuters are encouraged to weigh in on the proposed changes by completing a public survey. The survey is available on the City of Indio's official Facebook page and offers an opportunity to share thoughts, suggestions, and concerns about the Avenue 50 project.

The city says community feedback will help shape the final design and ensure the upgrades reflect local needs.
