Palm Springs Public Library Closes Temporarily Due to Air Conditioning Issues
PALM SPRINGS, CA - The Palm Springs Public Library has temporarily closed its doors due to an air conditioning malfunction, forcing the relocation of scheduled programs as desert temperatures soar.
The closure, announced Tuesday by the City of Palm Springs, comes as the region experiences typical summer heat that makes air conditioning essential for public safety and comfort. All scheduled library programs will be moved to Demuth Community Center, located at 3601 E Mesquite Ave, today and Thursday.
City officials apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the community for their understanding during the temporary closure. Updates regarding the library's reopening will be shared as they become available. For more information about relocated programs, residents can contact the Demuth Community Center at (760) 320-6430.
Starting on the 20th of this month, the Palm Springs Library will close and will remain closed until they relocate to their temporary location at Rimrock Plaza on East Palm Canyon Drive. The move is expected to last a few weeks with the temporary location expected to open mid-August. Library services will continue at the new spot. The renovation is expected to last at least 3 years.
