Affordable Pet Care Comes to Desert Hot Springs - An Inside Look at the New Center with Mary Strong
There's exciting news for pet owners in the community — Desert Hot Springs is now home to its very own animal care facility. The Desert Community Animal Center officially opened its doors yesterday, marking a significant milestone for both animal welfare and veterinary care in the area. Until now, residents had to travel out of town for basic pet services. This new center not only fills that gap but also offers something rare in the Coachella Valley — affordable veterinary care. It's currently the only veterinary services provider in Desert Hot Springs and one of the few low-cost clinics available valley-wide. The facility features a full range of services, including vaccinations, wellness exams, spay and neuter procedures, and emergency care options. It’s designed to serve pet owners of all income levels, especially those who may have struggled to afford regular vet visits in the past.
NBC Palm Springs' Mary Strong was on site for the grand opening and got a behind-the-scenes tour of the brand-new space. She spoke with enthusiastic local pet owners who say the center will be a “lifesaver” for their furry friends.
Mary also spoke with Executive Director Dan Rossi, who emphasized the center’s mission of keeping pets healthy and with their families. Take a look at this new chapter for Desert Hot Springs — where animals and their owners now have a new place to turn for affordable, compassionate care.
