An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Thursday, July 10, 2025!

Once again, the Coachella Valley -- and much of the Southwest -- is under an Extreme Heat Warning through tonight. Like yesterday, the Valley will be dealing with high temperatures between 116° and 120° this afternoon.

Also -- because of high pressure holding ozone pollutants close to the ground -- an Air Quality Alert continues through this evening from the Coachella Valley to the Coast.

The upper-high responsible for the excessive heat will be pushed aside because of a weak stalled frontal boundary to our North. This will play a role in reducing Valley highs to the lower one-teens on Friday and Saturday.

Those highs in Palm Springs will be running much closer to the city's normal high of 109° on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
