Pet of the Week: Meet Casper — The Friendly Cat with a Heart as Big as His Eyes

This week’s Pet of the Week brought us face-to-face with a total charmer: Casper, an 11-week-old kitten with soulful eyes and a calm, affectionate personality. Brought in by Valerie Kattz from Animal Samaritans, Casper proved that not all kittens bounce off the walls—some just want a cuddle and a conversation.

Found all alone without his mother or siblings, Casper came into the Animal Samaritans No-Kill Shelter as a solo rescue. After getting a full health check, he was placed into a loving foster home, where he was showered with affection, socialized beautifully, and given the chance to blossom. Now, he’s ready for his forever home.

🐱 Two Is Better Than One — Especially This Month

With kitten season in full swing, the shelter is packed with adoptable cats in every color and personality type imaginable—from playful orange tabbies to elegant tuxedo cats. To help more find loving homes, Animal Samaritans is offering a two-for-one special on all cats and kittens. Whether it’s two kittens or a cat-and-kitten pair, it’s double the love for one adoption fee.

🐶 Adoption Events in Palm Desert

Looking to meet your next furry family member? Animal Samaritans will be hosting adoption events at Petco on Highway 111 in Palm Desert:

• Saturday, July 12 from 11 AM – 1 PM

• Saturday, July 19 from 11 AM – 1 PM

These events will feature both cats and dogs—so whether you’re looking for paws or claws, you’re bound to find a new best friend.

A sweet update also came during this week’s segment—Milky, one of the adorable pups featured in a recent episode, has officially been adopted! He’s now enjoying life with a new loving family and a canine big brother. Stories like Milky’s are what it’s all about.
