Palm Springs Unified to Host Multicultural Fest Celebrating Community Diversity

This weekend, Palm Springs Unified School District is welcoming the community to its annual Multicultural Festival—a vibrant celebration of the Coachella Valley’s diverse cultures and traditions. Set for Saturday, April 26, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Palm Springs Air Museum, the free event promises an evening filled with music, food, and cultural pride.

Hosted by PSUSD’s Diversity and Racial Equity Department, the festival features student performances ranging from Ballet Folklorico and vocal acts to lively banda music and traditional dances. High school junior Sarabjeet Singh, one of the student hosts, says “I think that people should take away from this event all the different culture and diversity and talent that we have here in this valley.”

Community members can also enjoy food and merchandise from local vendors representing communities of color, along with hands-on arts and crafts activities for kids and resource tables from partner organizations. Dr. Nicole Crawford, Coordinator of Diversity and Racial Equity, emphasizes the event’s purpose: “We really want to expose all of our students and families to the diverse populations that are here—many of which people may not be aware of.”

Whether you're coming for the food, the performances, or to connect with neighbors, the PSUSD Multicultural Festival offers a meaningful, family-friendly way to celebrate what makes the valley so unique. Everyone is invited!
