Walmart Recalls 850,000 Ozark Trail Water Bottles Over Lid Hazard Causing Vision Loss

A major recall has been issued for Walmart shoppers involving Ozark Trail 64-ounce stainless steel insulated water bottles. The recall affects approximately 850,000 bottles due to a dangerous lid defect that has already resulted in serious injuries.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Walmart received three reports of injuries caused by the water bottle’s lid forcefully ejecting under pressure. In two of those cases, individuals reportedly suffered permanent vision loss.

The affected bottles are identifiable by the Ozark Trail branding and their 64-ounce stainless steel insulated design.

Officials urge customers to immediately stop using these water bottles and contact Walmart for a full refund.

The CPSC has emphasized the severity of the hazard, noting that the sudden release of the lid poses a risk not only to the user but to anyone nearby.

For more information on how to return the product and receive a refund, shoppers can visit Walmart’s website or check the CPSC’s official recall page.
