Cathedral City Reducing Speed Limits on Multiple Roads Starting July 25
Drivers traveling through Cathedral City will soon notice lower speed limits on several key streets. City officials announced this week that speed limits on more than 10 roads will be reduced starting Thursday, July 25, as part of an effort to improve traffic safety across the community.
Among the most notable changes:
Date Palm Drive from Vista Chino to 30th Avenue will see the speed limit drop from 55 miles per hour to 50.
Palm Drive from I-10 to Varner Road will be reduced from 60 miles per hour to 55.
Ramone Road from Date Palm Drive to Numa will decrease from 50 miles per hour to 45.
City officials say these adjustments are aimed at reducing accidents and making roadways safer for both drivers and pedestrians.
“This move reflects our ongoing efforts to prioritize safety,” a Cathedral City spokesperson said. “We encourage all drivers to be aware of the changes and adjust their speeds accordingly starting July 25.”
