Coachella Valley Unified School District Receives $70K Grant Through IID Program
THERMAL (CNS) - A $70,000 grant was awarded to the Coachella Valley
Unified School District and other schools to support energy efficiency in
education, Imperial Irrigation District announced today.
``This is an exceptional way to give back to the community that not
only supports education, but helps reduce energy demand through the use of
energy-efficient equipment,'' IID Chairwoman Gina Dockstader said in a
statement. ``We're pleased to support schools in creating more comfortable
environments for students and educators.''
IID launched its Grants for Energy Modernization in Schools program
earlier this year to give approximately $1.1 million to more than a dozen
institutions.
The program distributed $70,000 to a dozen school districts and
$35,000 to eight applicants. CVUSD could not be reached for comment.
