Eric Scott Romney Brings “Broadway’s Bad Guys” to Revolution Stage Company
This weekend, local performer Eric Scott Romney takes center stage in his one-man show, Broadway’s Bad Guys, at the Revolution Stage Company in Palm Springs.
Romney, who has captivated local audiences in shows like Cabaret at the McCallum Theatre, The Fantasticks, Jesus Christ Superstar, and countless productions at P.S. Underground, is stepping into the spotlight again—this time as a parade of Broadway’s most memorable villains.
“Dreams change,” Romney shared in an interview with Todd McCoskey. “I started as a dancer and later traded in my dance belt for the dark thrill of character roles. Villains have such depth. What’s scary is how familiar their motives can feel.”
The idea for the show began as a preview performance during last year’s Cabaret Riot at Revolution Stage Company. After a sold-out premiere at P.S. Underground in January, Broadway’s Bad Guys returns in full force—90 minutes long, complete with intermission, live music, and expanded instrumentation.
Romney is joined by musical director Chip Prince on keys and vocals, and Bob Marino on drums and synthesizer. Together, they’ll explore what makes a villain truly unforgettable.
From Beetlejuice to Igor in Young Frankenstein, Romney’s past roles inform the show’s energy and humor. “You don’t win a Tony for normal roles,” he quipped before launching into a live performance of a show tune written especially for Broadway’s Bad Guys.
Catch Eric Scott Romney and Chip Prince at the Revolution Stage Company this Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25. Tickets are available at revolutionstagecompany.com.
