Palm Springs Measure J Oversight Commission Meets Tonight to Review Public Arts Funding
Tonight at 5:30 p.m., the Palm Springs Measure J Oversight Commission will convene at City Hall for a public meeting with several key items on the agenda:
Funding Presentation from Public Arts Commission: The Public Arts Commission will present a proposal to allocate a portion of the city’s 1% sales tax—Measure J—towards public art installation costs.
Leadership Elections: The Oversight Commission will hold elections to appoint a new chair and vice chair.
Measure J, approved by voters, dedicates 1% of local sales tax revenues to community improvements. Tonight’s discussion will determine how some of those funds might support the city’s public art initiatives.
The meeting is open to residents, who are welcome to attend and provide public comment. Those unable to attend in person can check the City of Palm Springs website for livestream access or meeting minutes.
