Palm Springs Measure J Oversight Commission Meets Tonight to Review Public Arts Funding

Tonight at 5:30 p.m., the Palm Springs Measure J Oversight Commission will convene at City Hall for a public meeting with several key items on the agenda:

• Funding Presentation from Public Arts Commission: The Public Arts Commission will present a proposal to allocate a portion of the city’s 1% sales tax—Measure J—towards public art installation costs.

• Leadership Elections: The Oversight Commission will hold elections to appoint a new chair and vice chair.

Measure J, approved by voters, dedicates 1% of local sales tax revenues to community improvements. Tonight’s discussion will determine how some of those funds might support the city’s public art initiatives.
