Tesla Opens Retro-Futuristic Diner and Supercharger Station in Los Angeles
Tesla owners in Los Angeles now have a unique new destination to charge their vehicles — and their appetites. On Monday, Tesla officially opened its long-anticipated retro-futuristic diner and Supercharger station in Hollywood, featuring a drive-in experience and robotic food service.
With lines wrapping around the block and a parking lot full of eager patrons, customers described the new Tesla Diner as worth the wait. “I think it's interesting that finally we've come full circle again, that drive-ins will maybe start coming back again,” said customer Shawn O’looney, who was joined by his dog, Bella.
Designed by Elon Musk and years in the making, the diner combines vintage Americana with futuristic flair. It also boasts what Tesla calls the world’s largest urban Supercharging station.
Patrons were impressed by the robots serving food, including popcorn, and interactive displays showcasing Tesla robot prototypes. “They had 2023 robot. The first one they made, the 2022,” said Klea, a local influencer visiting with fellow YouTuber Frankie.
German visitor Daniel Eichel said the Tesla Diner was one of the reasons he came to Los Angeles. “I think Teslas are very cool cars and Elon Musk — everybody has a different opinion, especially in Europe,” he said.
Despite political controversy surrounding Musk, including his recent tenure in the Trump administration, the grand opening drew large crowds. “Elon can do what Elon wants to do. He makes things happen,” said customer Ron Nawracaj.
The Hollywood location is expected to serve as a prototype for similar Tesla dining experiences in other cities.
