Indio's First Brewery Opens Officially This Friday
Indio Brewing will officially open its doors Friday, marking a milestone as the city's first brewery. The establishment soft-opened on July 4th but celebrates its grand opening on July 25th, starting at 4 p.m. with a DJ and giveaways.
Family-Friendly Focus
The brewery positions itself as more than just a place to drink beer. Directors Chris Del Campo Hartman, Stephanie Callahan, and Kyle Callahan designed the space to accommodate families, choosing a North Indio location with ample parking and outdoor space for food trucks.
"We chose North Indio so that way we had a place for families like ourselves to come and enjoy somewhere family friendly," said Stephanie Callahan, the Director of Finance and Sales, during the brewery's preview.
From Home Brewing to Business
The establishment emerged from the founders' interest in home brewing during the pandemic. What started as a hobby among family and friends evolved into the city's first commercial brewery, filling a gap in Indio's business landscape.
Community Collaboration
Indio Brewing plans to expand beyond its own recipes by inviting local home brewers to collaborate as guest brewers. The brewery will provide ingredients, equipment, and brewing assistance for community members with promising recipes.
"We've been talking to a couple of other local home brewers and mentioned to them, if they feel like they have a really good recipe, we're more than happy to have them come in and be like a guest brewer for us," Kyle Callahan, Director of Maintenance, explained.
The North Indio location includes ample parking and space for food truck partnerships, aiming to provide residents with a local gathering place during the desert city's hot summer months and year-round.
Grand Opening Details
The official grand opening begins Friday at 4 p.m. at the North Indio location on 82900 Avenue 42 Unit G111, featuring live DJ entertainment and giveaways for attendees.
