Streaming Updates: 'Wednesday' and 'Only Murders' Return, New Documentary Explores Rail-Trail Movement
Streaming platforms are making waves this week with major announcements, while a new documentary sheds light on a nationwide transformation decades in the making.
Netflix has confirmed that Wednesday will return for a third season — even before the second season premieres. Jenna Ortega reprises her iconic role as Wednesday Addams, with Season 2 split into two parts. The first part launches August 6, and the second part follows on September 3.
Meanwhile, Hulu has unveiled a first look at Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building. The Emmy-winning whodunit starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez will return September 9. The season kicks off with three episodes and continues weekly.
Also coming this fall is From Rails to Trails, a new PBS documentary narrated by Edward Norton. The film traces the 60-year grassroots effort to turn abandoned railroad corridors into recreational paths. Over 26,000 miles of public trails have been created, and the documentary spotlights the passion and persistence behind this transformation. The film premieres October 15 on public television stations and PBS.org.
In sad news, the entertainment world is mourning the death of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan. Known globally for his larger-than-life personality, Hogan rose to fame in the 1980s as a WWE superstar before crossing over into television and film. His manager confirmed the 71-year-old died from cardiac arrest.
