Community Raises $9,000 to Help Animal Samaritans Save Injured Pets

A big thank you goes out to the community this morning for showing incredible generosity.

Earlier this week, NBC Palm Springs shared the story of the Cade L. Morrow Dog and Cat Care Fund at Animal Samaritans. The fund, which covers medical expenses for homeless, abandoned, and abused pets, had recently been depleted. One of the pets it helps is April, a dog who was struck by a car and suffered two broken legs.

After our story aired, the Coachella Valley community responded in a big way. Valerie Katz with Animal Samaritans says that between Wednesday and this morning, almost $9,000 has been donated to the fund.

These donations will help provide critical care for animals like April, who is now recovering from surgery. Once she has healed, April will be available for adoption and ready to find her forever home.

Animal Samaritans extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, proving once again how much this community cares for its animals.
