Around the Coachella Valley: Family Fun, Music, and Outdoor Adventures

There’s plenty to do this week across the Coachella Valley, whether you’re looking for family fun, live music, or a cool mountain escape.

On Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m., the Kids Club returns to The Shops at Palm Desert. This monthly event features live DJs, dance games, face painting, balloon animals, fake tattoos, arts and crafts, special guests, and more — a great option for kids to enjoy a lively afternoon.

For fresh produce and local goods, head to the Palm Springs Certified Farmers Market. The indoor market runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Palm Springs Pavilion at Sunrise Park.

If you’re looking to escape the heat, consider a hike starting from the Palm Springs Aerial Tram Mountain Station. The 11-mile round trip to San Jacinto Peak offers sweeping views, and on clear days you can even see Catalina Island from the summit.

Music lovers can support a good cause on Sunday evening. Act for MS presents the 15th annual Jazz It Up Summer Rhythm Benefit Concert at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, starting at 5 p.m. This year’s concert features pianist Bill Marks along with local favorites Slim Man and Chase Una. The event raises funds for Coachella Valley residents living with multiple sclerosis.

For a perfect Thursday night out, start at the Palm Springs Art Museum, which offers free admission from 5 p.m. Afterward, stroll over to Village Fest at 7 p.m. for a vibrant mix of art, food, and live music along Palm Canyon Drive.

Whatever you decide to do this week, enjoy the activities, stay cool, and take advantage of all the valley has to offer.
