Trump’s $11 Million Beyoncé Claim Debunked: Records Show Only $165K For Event Costs
Former President Donald Trump is calling for the prosecution of Beyoncé, claiming she was illegally paid $11 million to endorse Kamala Harris during the 2024 campaign. However, federal campaign finance records and multiple fact-checking organizations confirm there is no evidence to support this claim.
Trump made the statement in a weekend social media post while in Scotland, alleging that Democrats “admit to paying, probably illegally, Eleven Million Dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT.” He went on to say that such payments are “TOTALLY ILLEGAL” and that everyone involved should be prosecuted.
Public records tell a different story. The Harris campaign reported a $165,000 payment to Beyoncé’s production company, Parkwood Entertainment, listed as “campaign event production.” Campaign officials have consistently said they do not pay endorsers, but are legally obligated to cover production expenses associated with celebrity appearances at campaign events.
The rumor of a multi-million-dollar endorsement payment began circulating on social media in 2024 with a claim that Beyoncé had received $10 million. At the time, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, called the story “a lie” and clarified that her daughter was not paid to appear. The post was flagged as false and removed by Instagram.
Fact-checkers at FactCheck.org and PolitiFact found no evidence supporting Trump’s repeated claim. There is also no federal law prohibiting campaigns from paying for event production costs when the payments are properly reported.
Despite the lack of proof, Trump continues to reference the $11 million claim, now demanding a prosecution that legal experts say has no basis in law.
