Yucca Valley Family Welcomes Rare Triplets at Desert Regional Medical Center
A Yucca Valley family has something extra special to celebrate. Over the weekend, they welcomed three new additions—triplets—at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
The two boys and one girl, named Harrison, Hudson, and Addison, were born via emergency C-section. All three babies are currently resting comfortably in the NICU as they continue to grow stronger.
Desiree Wilson, the new mom, is already back on her feet. “I’m feeling good,” she said. “The nurses are like, wow, you’re up and walking, you’re doing normal things. I just had babies, and I’m happy to just be a part of it.”
Triplets are a rare occurrence, happening in just one out of every 10,000 pregnancies. For Desert Regional Medical Center, it’s the first triplet delivery in more than five years.
Hospital staff praised Wilson for her resilience. “She had some risk factors early on and had to stay with us for a little while,” one doctor shared. “But she was able to carry the babies all the way to 31 weeks. They’re doing phenomenal.”
The family is now waiting for doctors to clear mom and the triplets to head home together. And as for expanding the family even further? Wilson says they definitely want more children down the road.
