Cook Street Lane Reductions Begin in Palm Desert for Pipeline Installation

Drivers in Palm Desert should prepare for major lane reductions on Cook Street starting tomorrow as a new phase of construction begins.

The Coachella Valley Water District will start pipeline installation work that will reduce traffic in both directions to one lane between Merle Drive and Hovely Lane East. As part of the project, northbound traffic on Cook Street will be diverted into the southbound lanes.

This traffic pattern will remain in place throughout the construction phase, which is expected to continue until the end of September.

Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time for their commute and watch for workers and equipment in the area as crews continue this major water infrastructure project.
