How to Reset Your Child’s Sleep Schedule Before School Starts

THE SUMMER IS WINDING DOWN —
Lazy mornings, late nights, and relaxed routines are coming to an end as summer vacation draws to a close.

AND THE SCHOOL YEAR IS INCHING CLOSER —
Backpacks are being dusted off, school supplies are hitting the shelves, and calendars are filling up with orientation dates and first-day jitters.

IF YOUR STUDENT'S SLEEP SCHEDULE IS A BIT OFF —
You’re not alone. Many kids fall into a summer rhythm of staying up late and sleeping in, which doesn’t always align with those early school morning wake-ups.

IT'S TIME TO GET IT BACK IN LINE —
Experts recommend easing back into a consistent sleep routine about two weeks before school starts. Try moving bedtime earlier by 15 to 30 minutes each night and waking up a bit earlier each morning. Limit screen time in the evenings and create a calming bedtime routine to help their internal clock adjust. A good night’s sleep can make all the difference in helping your student start the school year focused, refreshed, and ready to learn.
