Heat Builds Ahead: Coachella Valley Braces for 115+ Temps by Next Week

Coachella Valley Forecast: Heat On the Rise as Weekend Approaches

Happy Thursday, Coachella Valley! While today brought us another toasty high in the low triple digits—right in line for this time of year—it’s only the beginning of a significant warm-up.

A strong ridge of high pressure currently sitting to our south is slowly inching its way north. Over the next several days, it will position itself squarely over the Desert Southwest, intensifying the heat across the region. As a result, temperatures are expected to climb well above average heading into the weekend and into early next week.

Forecast models suggest highs between 111° and 115° on Saturday and Sunday. And that’s just the start—by next Thursday, we could be pushing 116° under clear skies and calm conditions.

These aren’t the hottest temperatures we’ve ever seen, but they are dangerously high and well above the seasonal average. So whatever your weekend plans may include, be sure to plan around the heat. Stay hydrated, avoid peak afternoon sun, and check on vulnerable neighbors or pets.

The 7-day forecast paints a hot and steady picture, with each day inching upward. So while it’s a great time to soak in the summer sun, it’s also a critical time to stay cool and safe.

Stay tuned for updates—and stay weather-aware, Coachella Valley.
