Palm Springs Library to Close August 8 for Major Renovations
The Palm Springs Public Library will officially close to the public starting Friday, August 8, as the city prepares for a major renovation project.
Construction on the long-anticipated upgrades will begin on August 25, with a full reopening slated for the summer of 2027. The renovation is expected to bring significant improvements to the aging facility, enhancing services, accessibility, and community resources for years to come.
During the closure, all essential library services—including book checkouts, returns, and public programs—will continue at a temporary location at Rimrock Plaza. That location is set to open later this month.
City officials say the temporary site will ensure residents still have access to the library’s core services throughout the multi-year renovation process.
