An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Tuesday, August 5, 2025!

Today, the Coachella Valley will be under a hazy sunshine today due to Wildfire Smoke. Because of these conditions, an Air Quality Alert has been posted for a large area of Southern California -- including the Coachella Valley -- through this evening, most likely longer.

Starting tomorrow -- as an upper-level high pressure center stretches and expands over Southern California -- high temperatures in the area will begin to move into dangerous territory. In fact, advisories for the excessive heat have been posted for much of SoCal. This includes the Coachella Valley where an Extreme Heat Warning has been posted for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday when high temperatures will reside in the middle-to-upper one-teens.

Although the Valley will experience dry surface air each afternoon through Thursday, a little bit of humidity may sneak into the area on Friday and Saturday.
