DOJ Moves to Release Grand Jury Transcripts in Epstein-Maxwell Case
The U.S. Department of Justice is taking steps to release grand jury transcripts from the investigations into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. According to a recent court filing, the transcripts span five days—two days of testimony in front of the Epstein grand jury and three days in front of the Maxwell grand jury.
This move marks the DOJ's latest effort to bring more transparency to one of the most high-profile criminal investigations in recent history. Over the years, millions of pages of records have been collected as part of the case, most of which have remained sealed.
Additional filings related to the matter were expected to be submitted today.
The potential release of the transcripts is drawing strong reactions. Victims of Epstein, as well as others named or referenced in the documents, are submitting letters to the judge with their positions on whether these sensitive records should be made public.
The debate centers on the balance between transparency, accountability, and the privacy of those involved in or impacted by the case.
