Palm Springs to Host Free Repair Event for Broken Electronics and Appliances
The City of Palm Springs will hold a Fix-It Fair on Saturday, August 23, offering residents free repairs for broken household items that might otherwise be discarded.
The event, organized by the city's Sustainability Department, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mizell Center, located at 480 S. Sunrise Way. Expert volunteers will assist residents in repairing small appliances, electronics, clothing, and other household items.
Participants may bring up to two items per person. While pre-registration is available at fixitps.org, walk-ins will also be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited space.
The city is also seeking volunteers with repair skills to assist at the event. Those interested in volunteering can sign up through the same website.
For more information, residents can call (760) 323-8261 or visit fixitps.org.
