National Gossip Day, Farm Workers Appreciation & More: August 6th Holiday Roundup

Another Wednesday, another round of delightfully bizarre holidays you never knew existed! Our favorite weatherman Jerry Steffen was back this morning with his signature blend of holiday fun and musical trivia that keeps the Coachella Valley entertained.

Today's Holiday Lineup: From Gossip to Toe Wiggles

National Gossip Day kicked off Jerry's list, though he was quick to put a positive spin on it. "If you're going to spread some gossip, make it a good thing," Jerry suggested. "Like, Mary is a good volleyball player!" Of course, the control room couldn't resist chiming in with their own bit of "gossip" about Jerry's red underpants collection.

National Farm Workers Appreciation Day earned Jerry's serious respect. "Along with teachers, I have a great deal of respect for farm workers. They keep us fed," he emphasized, calling for better pay for both professions. "Whatever teachers and farm workers are making, give them more!"

National Root Beer Float Day made its return appearance, much to Jerry's mock dismay about his waistline. "Didn't we have this several times?" he wondered aloud, noting that Black Cow Day (essentially the same thing) was just back in June. But hey, who's complaining about more excuses for ice cream floats?

The day's quirkiest celebration? Wiggle Your Toes Day – apparently a legitimate way to boost blood flow, as Jerry learned from an actual physician. Who knew toe wiggling was medically endorsed?
