ORIGINAL STORY

Multiple traffic signals are dark across southern Palm Desert this morning following an unscheduled power outage that hit the area earlier today.

Southern California Edison crews are working to restore electricity, with power expected to return between 10 and 10:30 a.m. The outage has primarily affected the southern portion of the city, leaving several major intersections without working traffic lights.

Drivers should treat any non-functioning or flashing red traffic signals as four-way stops. City officials are urging motorists to use extra caution at affected intersections and follow proper right-of-way rules.

SCE crews are currently assessing the situation and working to restore power safely. Residents can check the latest outage information and updates at sce.com.
