Palm Springs Pride to Continue Despite $325,000 Funding Gap, Asks For Donations

Palm Springs Pride organizers announced Thursday they will move forward with the 2025 festival despite facing a $325,000 shortfall in expected sponsorship funding.

The Greater Palm Springs Pride organization attributes the funding gap to the current political climate, which has led to decreased corporate sponsorships. The four-day celebration will remain free to attend as planned.

Organizers expect the event to draw over 200,000 people to the Palm Springs area and generate an estimated $35 million in economic impact. However, the funding shortfall will force adjustments to the festival format, though specific changes weren't detailed.

"The long struggle for LGBTQ+ rights is knocking at our door again," said Ron deHarte, Palm Springs Pride president. "It is vital that we stand together and show the world that our community is strong."

The organization is now seeking community donations to help bridge the funding gap. Tax-deductible contributions can be made at pspride.org or through participation in the Equality Walk.

Greater Palm Springs Pride has organized the annual celebration since 1986. The nonprofit works to promote LGBTQ+ civil rights and community awareness in the Coachella Valley.
