Rosa Fire Holds at 1,690 Acres, One Evacuation Warning Lifted

The Rosa Fire burning along Highway 74 in Riverside County remains at approximately 1,690 acres with 40% containment as of this morning, fire officials reported. The blaze has not expanded from its current footprint.

Evacuation Status Changes

Authorities lifted one of three evacuation warnings affecting the Pinyon Crest and Taylor area. However, two evacuation warnings remain active for residents along Pines to Palms Highway and Dunn Road.

Evacuation orders in other areas remain unchanged, with law enforcement continuing to restrict access to affected zones. Deputies are only allowing residents in evacuation warning areas to return to their homes, while those under evacuation orders must remain displaced.

Access Restrictions Continue

Near Riverside County Fire Station 30, sheriff's deputies turned away homeowners attempting to access their properties. Deputies explained that these residents live within evacuation order zones, not warning zones, making them ineligible for return under current protocols.

The distinction between evacuation orders and warnings determines who may access their homes. Evacuation orders require immediate departure and prohibit return, while evacuation warnings allow residents to prepare for possible evacuation and may permit return when conditions improve.
