US Chip Giants Agree to Revenue-Sharing Deal for China Sales

Semiconductor manufacturers NVIDIA and Advanced Micro Devices have agreed to pay the U.S. federal government 15% of their revenues from chip sales to China, according to the Financial Times.

The agreement grants both companies export licenses to sell NVIDIA's H-20 chips and AMD's M-1308 chips in the Chinese market. This arrangement marks a significant policy shift from the Trump administration's strict restrictions on semiconductor exports to Beijing.

The revenue-sharing mechanism's intended use remains undisclosed by the current administration.

The development comes as China seeks broader easing of U.S. export controls on components critical for artificial intelligence chip manufacturing. These discussions may become part of wider trade negotiations between Washington and Beijing.
