Friday Night Lights: New look La Quinta ready to compete for league title

The Valley is gearing up for week zero of the high school football season, but that's not the case for the La Quinta Blackhawks. 

Coach Ruiz is keeping it old school and officially beginning their season against Yucca Valley on August 29th, which is the traditional week one.

Captain Tristan Salas is the only returner on the offensive line, and will play both sides of the ball. Salas is excited about what this team can bring every Friday night. 

The Blackhawks will open the season against the Yucca Valley Trojans on Friday, August 29.
