Living Desert Hosts Evening Events to Beat Summer Heat

The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens is offering after-hours programming this month with "Wild Nights" events held every Friday in August from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Members can enter early at 6:30 p.m.

The special evening events, scheduled for August 15, 22, and 29, allow visitors to explore the Wild Americas section of the park during cooler nighttime hours. This area, typically closed after dark, houses North American animals including mountain lions, Mexican wolves, jaguars, bighorn sheep, and baby bobcats.

Activities include guided scorpion searches using blacklights, bat detection sessions at the Sonoran Pond, and educational presentations by the animal care team. Visitors can also use the splash pad with fountain displays and participate in desert-themed trivia competitions with prizes.
