Vinyl Records Take Center Stage On Hashtag Holiday Calendar

NBC Palm Springs weatherman Jerry Steffen kicked off another entertaining edition of Hashtag Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz this morning, and let's just say things got a little crispy – and groovy!

Plot twist: Our weatherman is apparently sitting on a treasure trove of vinyl! When asked about his collection, Jerry casually dropped that he owns "thousands" of records, including countless 45 RPMs, with an entire room in his house dedicated to his collection. Meanwhile, Mary had just given away a stack of records and was immediately regretting that decision!

Jerry shared some fascinating vinyl history, noting that the first vinyl record dates back to the 1890s, while the familiar 33 RPM and 45 RPM formats we know and love were introduced commercially in the 1940s.
