Cathedral City Marks Centennial with Free Movie Screening

Cathedral City will commemorate the 100th anniversary of its first designated land marker with a free community event on Saturday, August 30th from 11 AM to 1 PM.

The celebration will take place at Mary Pickford Theatre (D'Place) in downtown Cathedral City and feature a screening of "Palm Springs Weekend," a film shot on location in the city. Attendees will also view an exclusive documentary about Cathedral City's history.

The event includes free admission, refreshments, and commemorative merchandise. The screening highlights the city's transition from desert landscape to Hollywood filming location over the past century.

No advance registration is required for the event.
